Friend of Tomorrow Maggie Gram is spending this week combing Ralph Ellison’s papers at the Library of Congress, where she found lots of correspondence between Ellison and his editor at Tomorrow Magazine. We haven’t found much information about our predecessor, but Wikipedia says it was published between 1942 and 1962 and specialized in “parapsychological and mystical subjects.” Its lady editor, Eileen Garrett, was considered the foremost spiritual medium of the time.
We can’t promise seances, but we’re happy to assume such a distinguished legacy.

An editor pings Ralph Ellison—probably thinks Ellison will file late?
