Through a combination of circumstances (finding a writing partner; needing some pixel art in my portfolio; being saddled with in-jokes), I have found myself in partial possession of what can vaguely be called a “webcomic”: Vampire: the Marxuerade is a pixel art choose-your-own-adventure Let’s…
Clearly, it’s not only content to remain a tumblr, filled with odds and ends of mindmorphing curiosa.
This has been a chrysalis. A foreshadowing. A beta spell mainly intended for private enjoyment. However, we operate with a full awareness that early adopters and digital spies would find our destination in its natal stage, so we’ve been careful to casually present material we feel dually represents our liberal aesthetic range and more distinct mindset towards music in 2011. We are actively honing a haven for future, foreign, and forgotten sounds we strongly believe in seeing persevere. We are an intermediary compass to help artists find their audience & vice versa.
The real Nightvision initiative, and extent of its cause, begins it’s true evolution next week, when we launch THISISNIGHTVISION.COM with a wonderfully captivating exclusive feature and podcast with one of 2011’s most masterful and imaginative new electronic visionaries.
From there, our long-term plight will strategically glide into its timely focus, and you’ll learn what we’re doing in the near future to elevate Nightvision into a dynamic multi-tiered endeavor. We hope we will advance the cause of progressive music in editorial, radio, and live form. We truly believe we can heighten all levels of the modern music experience through inspired alliances with fellow-minded, enterprising crusaders.
There is hope yet.
More amazing music than ever is at our disposal, yet the fractured methods with which we now discover our sounds can lead to a balkanized, one-sided aesthetic experience. We want to unify a new generation of avant pop appreciators in a meaningful way. We don’t believe music is a zeitgeist-clinching accessory to our lives and lifestyles; for a few of us, it’s the very thing that makes ‘lives’ make sense at all. Here’s to hoping we can make your own musical journey a bit more illuminating and fulfilling.
More to come.
Mark the calendar: Monday, August 29th at Midnight, we launch.
